About Me
I am Cody Sketoe - like ‘mosquito’, I just don’t drain the life out of you - and am a Houston native. I started off in Sugar Land until recently, having moved to New Caney, am a graduate of the University of Houston, and a licensed CPA in the state of Texas. I’m married to someone who is allergic to numbers but supports me anyway, we have a couple animals, and looking to start a family here soon; so no cute group photos for now, you’ll just have to settle with my mug on the right.
In the past 16 years, I’ve built a strong foundation in changing tires, frying chicken, emptying septic from planes and throwing luggage, delivering sandwiches, and picking small parts from a warehouse. I also learned how tax works and how to prepare returns, audited the financial statements of major corporations (Invesco and Chevron) during my time at PwC, understand the accounting process and what your financials should be telling you, developed a critical eye for “what in the world is going on here?” and utilizing a “how do I fix it?” mindset.
In short - I enjoy providing an excellent service to the public and am good at coming up with solutions, particularly in the accounting space. I’m a regular guy, the only thing stiff is my lower-back, I can’t stand wearing a suit but I do it anyway (sometimes) so I can at least give the image of being a professional but prefer a polo and jeans, we can talk shop over a call or over a beer, and engaging with me will engage with a service completely focused on you, your business, your tax situation, and getting things right - even if it’s annoying, because I care that much.

Sketoe CPA, PLLC is owned and operated by me, Cody Sketoe, CPA, MSACCY, who focuses on, but am not limited to, self-employed individuals, businesses, and the owners of said businesses. As a University of Houston graduate, holding both a BBA and Master’s of Science in Accounting. Cody carries the CPA credential, alongside years of experience in Big 4 Audit, General Ledger accounting with public companies, bookkeeping, and individual & business tax preparation.
I have a firm foundation in seeing the big picture, as well as a thorough understanding of the various different businesses processes inherent to the field, going far beyond just number crunching. I have a client-first approach, ensuring that I have open and available lines of contact without a price tag attached, with extensive care in the preparation and review of both your books and taxes.
